The International Conference on Secure Digital Technologies and Intelligent Engineering (SDTIE2026) will be held at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Almaty, Kazakhstan, on October 15–17, 2026.

SDTIE2026 is planned as the first edition of an annual international academic conference series hosted by Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The conference will bring together researchers, academics, engineers, PhD students, young scientists, industry professionals and international partners working in the fields of secure digital technologies, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and intelligent engineering systems.

The central theme of the conference is the development of secure, intelligent and trustworthy digital technologies for science, education, industry and society. Cybersecurity, cryptology and digital trust will serve as cross-cutting themes, while the broader scope of the conference will also cover artificial intelligence, data science, social cybersecurity, software engineering, digital platforms, wireless technologies, IoT, smart energy systems, quantum technologies, digital twins and smart manufacturing.

SDTIE 2026 aims to become a stable annual platform for scientific exchange, international collaboration, publication opportunities, young researchers’ development, academic networking and cooperation between Kazakhstan, Central Asia and international research communities.

The main objectives of SDTIE2026 are:

•to establish an annual international academic platform on secure digital technologies and intelligent engineering

•to present new research results in cybersecurity, AI, cryptology, digital transformation and engineering systems

•to support collaboration between universities, research institutes, industry and international partners

•to promote high-quality research by young scientists, PhD students and early-career researchers

•to strengthen academic cooperation between Kazakhstan, Central Asia and the wider international research community

•to create opportunities for joint publications, research projects, workshops and future scientific partnerships.

Publication Information

The accepted and registered papers will be published in the conference book, which will be considered for inclusion in Scopus.

The selected high-quality extended papers of SDTIE2026 will be considered for publication by following journals:

International Journal of Computer Network and Information Security(IJCNIS)

International Journal of Information Technology and Computer Science (IJITCS)

International Journal of Intelligent Systems and Applications (IJISA)

Authors are invited to submit original, unpublished manuscripts, extended abstracts, project presentations and research results in the following five broad areas of interest. Submissions addressing closely related topics are also welcome.

1. Cybersecurity, Cryptology and Digital Trust

Topics include cybersecurity, network and cloud security, application security, intrusion detection, malware analysis, digital forensics, cyber risk management, cryptography, cryptanalysis, secure protocols, authentication, privacy-preserving technologies, blockchain security, post-quantum cryptography and protection of critical digital systems.

2. Artificial Intelligence, Data Science and Secure Intelligent Applications

Topics include machine learning, deep learning, generative AI, big data analytics, computer vision, natural language processing, AI in healthcare, intelligent decision-support systems, explainable AI, trustworthy AI, secure AI and AI applications in science, education and industry.

3. Social Cybersecurity, Online Safety and Digital Society

Topics include social cybersecurity, social network analysis, harmful and extremist content detection, misinformation, hate speech, cyberbullying, online safety, digital behavior analysis, OSINT, AI/NLP for digital society, protection of vulnerable groups in the online environment and human-centered digital security.

4. Software Engineering, Digital Platforms, IoT and Secure Communications

Topics include software engineering, secure software development, DevSecOps, databases, cloud computing, distributed systems, e-government, enterprise systems, digital platforms, human-computer interaction, wireless networks, 5G/6G technologies, IoT and IIoT, edge computing, secure communications and intelligent communication infrastructures.

5. Intelligent Engineering, Smart Infrastructure and Emerging Technologies

Topics include smart energy systems, smart grids, renewable energy technologies, critical infrastructure resilience, cyber-physical systems, industrial control systems, digital twins, robotics, automation, smart manufacturing, industrial AI, predictive maintenance, simulation, Industry 4.0/5.0 technologies, quantum computing, quantum communication, quantum cryptography and quantum-safe security.

Prospective authors are encouraged to submit a full paper for review by September 11, 2026, in Word or PDF format. Papers will be accepted based on peer review and should contain original, high-quality work. Claims and results should be substantive enough to be further developed as quality work. All papers must be written in English. Submitting a standard paper should be 10-25 pages, including figures and references.

All manuscripts will be subjected to blind peer-reviewing and are expected to meet the scientific criteria of novelty and academic excellence. The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that the article’s publication has been approved by all other co-authors and takes responsibility for the paper during submission and peer review. Review comments will be communicated to you, and you may be required to make the necessary revisions and send the revised paper on or before the prescribed day.

The content of any submissions should be original and must not be submitted simultaneously for consideration for publication in any other conference or journal. Reuse of material previously published by the authors is possible under the conditions that the authors fully disclose (cite) the reference and clearly highlight the innovative contribution of the submission and the significance of this contribution.

SDTIE 2026 will be hosted by Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, one of the leading universities in Kazakhstan. The conference venue will provide facilities for plenary sessions, parallel scientific tracks, workshops, online participation and networking activities.

The third day of the conference is planned as a Practice and Cultural Networking Day. In the first half of the day, workshops, CTF activities and young researchers’ sessions may be organized. In the second half of the day, participants will be offered a cultural and networking program with a visit to Shymbulak and other beautiful locations in Almaty, subject to weather conditions and logistical arrangements. The cultural program is intended to strengthen informal academic communication, support international networking and introduce participants to the natural beauty and cultural atmosphere of Almaty.
